Home to many of Dallas’s wealthiest residents, this private and secluded neighborhood is often referred to as the city’s “golden corridor” and features an abundance of high-end shops and trendy restaurants.

Known and named for its plentiful trees, creeks, and hollows, there is a collection of expansive estates here, but the majority of Preston Hollow’s streets are lined with modest ranch-style homes located in close proximity to the city’s top private schools.

Pedestrian-friendly and walkable, this welcoming and affluent community boasts lots of recreation in the form of restaurants and retail.

Local Lifestyle

Privacy is one of Preston Hollow’s biggest draws. Home to at least five billionaires (including Mark Cuban), a sampling of sports stars, and former president George W. Bush, this area features quiet seclusion.


Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Restaurants abound in Preston Hollow. Local favorites include Hillstone Restaurant, an upscale chain eatery serving burgers, steaks, and other American fares. R&D Restaurant, featuring a menu of New American cuisine and sushi rolls served in a buzzy, low-lit space, is another local favorite.

Retail is also a major pastime in Preston Hollow. Residents regularly frequent Preston Royal Shopping, a sprawling strip mall shopping center offering more than 60 retail, dining, and salon options. Preston Forest Shopping contains a range of retailers, plus fast-food spots and specialty food markets.


Things To Do

Netherland Park, a 5.2-acre neighborhood park established in 1975, features a tennis court and trails. Preston Hollow Park, a 7.2-acre neighborhood park established in 1947, offers a pavilion, picnic tables, playground, trails, and sports fields.

Schools

 A mix of private and public schools is available for Preston Hollow residents to choose from

  • Preston Hollow-Hillcrest High School, Hillcrest High School, formerly Vickery Meadows High School, is a public secondary school that enrolls students in grades 9–12 and is a part of the Dallas Independent School District.
  • St. Mark’s The St. Mark's School of Texas is a nonsectarian preparatory day school for boys in grades 1–12, accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest.
  • Hockaday, Hockaday School is an independent, secular, college preparatory day school for girls accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest.
  • Episcopal School of Dallas, a coeducational, college preparatory school for ages three through grade 12.
